Kevin Hagan- Guidance Counselor

Hello and Welcome Back! I hope that you and your family had an enjoyable summer vacation. My name

is Kevin Hagan, and I am excited to be the new seventh and eighth-grade counselor at GMS. I will be

working alongside Mrs. O’Donnell, who is the fourth through sixth-grade counselor. This is going to be a

fantastic year filled with learning, growing, and new adventures. I’m looking forward to getting to know

you, your family, and more importantly your child.

First, I wanted to take a moment to tell you a few things about myself. I was born and raised in

Gloucester City and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1998. I attended Rutgers University and

earned my Bachelor’s Degree. I decided to further my education at the University of Wilmington and

graduated with a Master’s Degree in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling. I have worked in the

district for 15 years. During my tenure, I held the positions of Paraprofessional, Technology Coordinator,

and Head Coach of Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball. My son, Aydan, is 14 years old entering ninth grade

at Gateway Regional High School.

This will be my first year as a School Counselor, and I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to

pursue my passion. I strongly believe this school year will be filled with engaging and successful

experiences for all students. As a team, we work together to ensure that every student at GMS sees the

Counselors as a safe space to access supportive adults. We see parents/guardians as partners and

encourage you to always reach out to discuss your child. Please feel free to contact me with any

questions that you may have or please let me know of anything I can do to assist your child.
